An Update (Finally)

At last it's the summer holidays and I can relax! I did work experience at EDS in the last two weeks of term and I've survived it. It interesting seeing what work's really like even though we (4 of us in total) were given pretty menial tasks to do, such as taking inventory of the stationery and toners and crawling under desks writing down the numbers for plug sockets. I got to take a computer apart and put it back together and ended up with a spare bit of metal. It still worked afterwards as well! (Except for the CD drive which we put in slightly wonky.) There were free drinks machines as well, which I now sorely miss (even though I spilt a couple of them). We all got MP3 players at the end of it as well, so now I have extra music/audiobook space for my holiday to Cyprus.
I've spent the first week of my holiday rewatching my Life on Mars DVD, writing and reading fanfiction and I've even joined a Life on Mars community on Live Journal. I'm watching my second ever episode of The Sweeney on Men and Motors tonight at ten. I'm already dropping hints with all the subtlety of Gene Hunt about the complete series boxset for my birthday. It looks Life on Mars will be finishing after two series, but on the plus side series two might be on in the autumn, just in time for my birthday. I'm already saving my pennies for the DVD in March.
