Yes, I adore this version of Hamlet. I've been watching through various parts of the film tonight and it's reminded me that Nicol Williamson is my favourite Hamlet.
"We defy augury. There is a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, 'tis not to come. If it be not to come, it will be now. If it be not now, yet it will come. Since no man knows of aught he leaves, what is't to leave betimes? Let be."
I haven't been able to see it yet and youtube is no help. While looking at the DVD page for the film, amazon helpfully threw up more temptations in the form of two other Holmes related films I've been curious about - The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes and Without a Clue. My mouse finger is feeling rather twitchy at the moment...
I can forgive you your blindy moments, being an extreme blindy myself (which in combination with a very badly laid out crossing nearly had me in the path of a bus barrelling round a corner today).
I'm in a bit of a Mark Gatiss groove at the moment and I'd say his performance in Sherlock has certainly reawakened my long standing fascination with Mycroft.
The scribbles are a bit rough still but they can definitely come together to form the bones of an actual story. I've had quite a few little ideas from things I picked up from rewatching series 2 of Sherlock (such as Mycroft sending Lestrade to keep an eye on Sherlock) and the original stories (Sherlock going to Mycroft to borrow money apparently being the first time Mycroft finds out that his brother isn't dead. I also spotted Mycroft "absolutely and indignantly" refuse to climb over railings in The Bruce Partington Plans, when I'd had him clambering over railings in one of my scribbles exactly because it seemed like something he wouldn't normally do.)
- As for DW comms. Hmm. I don't think I'm part of any really active comms over here, so I'm afraid I'm not much use in that area.
I look forward to sharing the story I get out of all my ideas and the ones nicked, ahem, borrowed from Conan Doyle, Moffat/Gatiss and various other versions of the Holmes brothers. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to resist buying those DVDs with my head so full of Holmes.
